The theme for this year's fourth annual ball will be "Pearls of the Pacific." Last year was a huge success with over 120 lovely transgender ladies, friends, family, and visitors from such faraway places as upstate New York, Missouri, and Kentucky, as well as many from throughout California and Nevada.

Arrive at 6:00 for a classy no-host cocktail reception, followed by a short welcoming speech from River City Gems President, Dianna Roraback. Then enjoy a sumptuous 3-course dinner, accompanied by smooth jazz and classic ballads. After dinner, get ready for some fun live entertainment and then end the night with a sizzling DJ dance party! It's going to be the transgender event of the year!

The dinner menu for River City Sparkle reflects a high standard of cuisine with three tempting entrees and a delectable dessert, all showcasing the freshest and finest ingredients artfully prepared by the Red Lion's award-winning chef. Choose from Roasted Beef Tenderloin Medallions with cabernet sauce and roasted garlic or Char Grilled King Salmon Filet, basted with basil-garlic butter or Roasted Vegetables in Pastry with tomato and pepper sauce, topped with feta cheese. Each choice comes with a house salad, seasonal vegetables, bread, coffee, hot and iced tea. The desert has not yet been determined.

For attendees who need to change on-site, some free changing rooms will be available. Or better still, why not book your own hotel room and stay overnight. To reserve your room, call the Red Lion reservations desk at (916) 922-8041 If you stay over on September 30 (Friday), you may get a much lower rate for Saturday and Sunday (October 1 and 2). Joining the Red Lion R&R Club entitles you to a 25% discount from the regular rates. Joining is free and can be easily done on-line at the Red Lion web site.
